Vintage Roadside + Charles Phoenix = Modernism Week fun!

We're thrilled to announce we'll be spending the evening of February 19th at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs as part of Modernism Week. What's going on at the Ace you may ask? An evening with the one-and-only Charles Phoenix! "But wait there's more!", as they say on TV. You'll also be the first to see two brand-new Vintage Roadside t-shirts we're launching as part of Modernism Week. We'll be offering a selection of Charles' books at the Vintage Roadside booth and hosting a book signing by Charles after his performance. We've seen a number of Charles' performances and can guarantee you'll not want to miss this!

  • Where: The Ace Hotel. 701 E Palm Canyon Dr. Palm Springs, CA
  • When: February 19th - 6:30 pm
  • How Much: $20.00
We hope to see you there - it should be a great evening!

We saw a Charles Phoenix extravaganza last time we were in LA - I remember pink poodles, hula hoops, potato salad, vintage slides and Cybil Shepherd upstaging a regular guy in the audience by thinking the spotlight was for her- what a great time. Now Retro Roadhusband and I are often heard saying, "I KNOW" = have a swell time you crazy kids!

Mod Betty - Sounds like it was quite a show! We also find ourselves using the phrase "I Know" for several days after one of his shows too. It just kind of sticks with you :-)

You will love the Ace. Very groovy indeed and totally dog-friendly. Is it silly be in love with a place because of its impeccable choice of fonts? They have some great marketing material (notepads, postcards, etc.). Right up your alley.

Jill - Thanks for the comment! We're so excited to spend a few days at the Ace. And, no, it's not wrong to fall in love over fonts. We've been known to do the same thing.
