Buy a gallon of gas for $.50 at a time to cruise. A blast at the time. Now regret problems we created for owner and car hops. There were no controls at that time. Did laps until the gas was just low enough to get us home. My dad, O.C. Goodman opened Dixie Liquor in the early 60's. I still have a lot of the original neon from when the sign was restored in the 90's. Sadly, the sign is now gone. The new owners sold it to a bar in Sturgis South Dakota and that bar burned down with that sign and many others.

Stay safe and enjoy your travels.
S. I knew Mr. Jimmie Toler very well since I worked at The Bank of St. John on Main St in La Place and he banked there. One year he even put my name in for a maid in the La Place carnival ball. At that time they didn't tell you who picked you so I had no idea until that night who it was. It was Mr. Toler and I was so surprised. I really appreciated what he did for me. I am glad to see the Frostop stay in his family and I am sure the food is still the best. Thanks for the great memories. I can feel you frustration and urge to get Eff so I'm glad your story has a happy ending. As for me I collect Nancy Drew books, the old, old ones from the 1930's when they were first published. There is no feeling like the feeling when you add a beloved item to your collection. Yes it can be frustrating waiting and wanting but like most loves, the chase is part of the fun. Enjoy your little guy and I hope you get his twin sister. I'm a mother of twins, boy and girl, and I don't think they should ever be too far from each other.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12201333175341482276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8246917444733853754.post-56268520718270406982016-04-09T03:14:14.520-07:002016-04-09T03:14:14.520-07:00Glad to see that Eff is going to a good home, and ...Glad to see that Eff is going to a good home, and that Estelle is doing well.
